In an exclusive interview with 'JoyPad' (http://www.e-mpire.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1543552&postcount=37)(Jeu Video's official magazine), Kazinori Yamauchi of Polyphony, reveals some new information about Gran Turismo 5; all confirmed by the creator himself. These include online between 12-20 players, 4 driving views, all Ferrai and F1 cars; and more....

Kazunori discusses this list of features for the upcoming PS3 exclusive Gran Turismo 5 (the list should be put in the rumour collum for the moment, since this is from one persons translation of the magazine):

- All cars and tracks from GT4 will be included in GT5
- More cars and tracks should be downloadable
- 4 driving views
- Car damage
- All Ferrari+ F1 cars
- Porsche and Lamborghini brands to be confirmed
- Indianapolis may feature
- A game will be release before Gran Turismo 5, this is presumed to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Το xbox εχει παρα πολυ καλους τιτλους. Και συνεχιζει και βγαζει παρα πολυ καλους τιτλους και πεφτει πολυ λιωσημο. Ακομα ειναι νωρις για το PS3. Πρεπει να βγουν αρκετα παιχνιδια ακομα για να γινει αυτο. Οσο για την παρεα που λες, καλη παρεα να υπαρχει και απο εκει και περα παντου ειναι ποιο ωραια απο ποτε!!!

Eπιτελους φαινεται οτι βαζουν μυαλο. Ζημια και online επρεπε να υπηρχαν στο 4, αλλα καλλιο...

Ανυπομονω απιστευτα γι αυτο, λογικα στην Ε3 θα αποκαλυφθει αν και καπου ειχα δει οτι ισως το κρατησουν για το TGS.

Kαι αν πραγματικα μπορουμε να παιζουμε μεχρι και 20 ατομα σε online αγωνες θα ειναι ονειρο.

I just bought JOYPAD and i can confirm this is all-true.
There are four new(but tiny) pics :
-a cockpit view from an Audi TT(Totally photorealistic :O)
-a pic from the 300SL (full exterior view)
-another shot from the cockpit of the 300SL (Polyphony artists am God total)
-AND the first shot ever from the nürburing (The trees are really good!)

And sorry my scanner is broken :( .Ii will try to make some tomorrow at work.

And the big news from the article : FULL HD GT4 is not dead!!
-Release date is not determined yet ( but from this article opinion,end of this year )

Three stories down, we enter the most holy place of all holy places with an industrial architecture. We are accompanied by our photographer, our interpreter and our pilot. For this occasion, we asked Benoit Trluyer, current champion in the Formule Nippon series, Nissan driver in the super GT class and pilot in the 24 hours of Le Mans, to join us in this trip. This is the first time I’m here with Polophony, it’s a madhouse, he says while smiling. Polyphony is a studio like no other. Not everything is devoted to making money, but to make the game. There are piles of car magazines, several racks are almost falling because of the weight, maquettes are hiding the desks, without taking the sketches and models into account. The people working in the studio can live completely without any help from the outside. Someone opens the door of a large room: there are music instruments in here, training devices, a library with books, DVD, newspapers, video gaming consoles are available in the corner as well, Everything is available so everyone can amuse themselves when they take a break . Most of the time, when a game is almost finished, programmers stay in the studio. There is a kitchen, showers, rooms and even a washing machine! The tour continues. Kazunori opens some drawers, takes out some brochures and explains to us how.

GT HD Classic or Premium

GT4 will be downloadable via the PSN, you will be able to create your own GT. You’ll have to download additional tracks and vehicles if you like them. Price or method of operation are unknown as of now. What GT Premium concerns, it will be some sort of concept game with two circuits and a bit more than thirty vehicles (name is currently unknown). It’s guaranteed that all Ferrari cars will be in this game. No confirmation yet for Porche and Lamborghini.

Destraction

In this part of the studio, it’s possible to relax, play music, watch DVD’s, etc. You can also find a large quantity of magazines here. First floor is dedicated to travelling magazines and the videotheque.

Third page:

There are days where you can’t get out of luck! Before our arrival, it wasn’t foreseen that we would be able to play GT. Still we had a chance to play Nirburgring wit a 350Z GT500 on a 46 full HD screen, all sensations were present. Because GT HD is being developed to be played with a steering wheel, each version is tested with different models to get some comparison statistics. Four screens are connected in the same fashion to show the game in different resolutions (sd, 720p, 1080i, 1080p I guess). It’s here Yamauchi tests GT during the development phase.

Fourth page:

The modelling takes place starting with the facts sheets from the different constructers. We discover that all characterics of all the cars in the world are here. From the 406 and the Ford GT, to the latest Audi TT, they are all here. It has come to our attention that there’s an impressive glass cage illuminated with blue neons here as well. Kazunori explains: it’s a giant server (it would be the 4th in terms of size in Japan), working 24 hours a day and it handles as some sort of database. Constructers come here to store and access all the necessary data. It’s impossible to access without a pass. (small anecdote: because of the impressive cooling system here, people use it to cool their wine bottles). Every piece of the studio is personalised, most of the programmers have their own living space with mostly three to four monitors each, but also souvenirs. In total, there are 120 people working here, 120 to make the next GT. None of them have left the team since they started. To the contrary, the team has expanded: computer engineer specialists, graphical designers, game designers. This is what makes it possible for us to make a project like GT, Kaz explains. The team is like a family here.

For this occasion, the studion has installed two simulators. Today’s match will be between Yamauchi and Benoit Trluyer. After some laps, Benoit has found his rhythm, making 1’10. It really well made, he says. You can feel the difference when you place the tires on the marks. And further visually it’s really impressive. It’s time to race. The two men choose the Ferrari 599 on the GT HD track. Benoit asks the creator some questions. Sometimes, Yamauchi invites japanese pilotes from the super GT class to test GT, so he really is interested to hear what the French pilot has to say. Indeed, Benoit has trouble feeling the limit when he breaks. Yamauchi explains this is due to the fact that current racing wheels are not evolved enough yet to know such subtle stuff. (it’s mostly in Japanese so it could be some of the dialogue got lost).

Page six:

Nirburgring

When everyone is taking a break, I’m using the opportunity to make a small tour. Nobody pays attention to me, so it seems like I’m already blending in quite well. Right in front of Kaz’s desk, there are four screens with a steering wheel. Behind them around ten PS3 development kits and three big pc’s. The first screen is 46 wide, the three others are smaller. I’m told that it is here the big boss tests his GT. There are four screens so he can see everything from the game on TV’s from different manufacturers. “When he has a few minutes to spare, or he want to check a certain element in the game, he makes a ‘tour’, I’m told by an employee. Is that GT that’s running there? The answer is yes and they invite me to take place behing a Nismo Farladie Z on the Nirburgring. Unbelievable, unhoped for I’m going to play the new GT! Off course, in this stage of development, nothing has been finalised yet. Kazunori tells us that there won’t be two, but four different driving positions to choose from. There will be a cockpit view that will show the dashboard. All the details are here, the Nirburg has been perfectly modiles down to the slightest detail, but the scenery is not finalised yet. Last year Kazunori has had the occasion to ride the real Nirburgring. He said that, after playing it on screen, he could find every detail as it was from the real track. Maybe that is the reason they are showing this 22km long track first to promote their full hd? The next GT will actually be GT4 in full HD with 750 cars, about 50 tracks. Two versions will be available, Classic and Premium. Some features are online garage, carrier mode, challenges, one versus one, also a chat feature, equipment for each model, an online spectator mode, etc. Everyone can create their own GT according to their taste. It appears that these online features in GT HD bis will serve as a platform were the real GT5 will be build upon. There are also some balancing stuff build in to make the cars behave and react more realistically. At the dinner later, an employee shows a slideshow on a screen. It’s all Japanese so impossible to understand but they can read the word Indianapolis. One of the most famous circuits in the next GT? We still don’t know for sure.

New Details on Car Damages, Downloadable Cars (http://gamers-creed.com/?p=199)

Here are some Excerpts from the latest edition of Car and Drive issue magazine in which they give more details about the next GT5 game.

Excerpts :
They talk about the whole GT series and the some technical differences between them and the latest iteration - GT5.
They talk about the Polyphony’s studio and how the developers spend their time there. Some have cots with sleeping bags under their desk to take power naps.
They mentioned that the soonest GT5 would be released would be Spring 2008 but that it could be pushed back because Sony is giving them as much time as they need - Kaunori Yamauchi wants it done right.
Yamauchi said for GT1, one car was one day’s work for one man, GT3 was one man’s work for 30 days, and GT5 one car is one man’s work for 180 days!
Yamauchi mentioned to program 700 cars would take at least 5 years so GT5 will obviously have less. Players will be able to download more cars in the future. Mentioned some game upgrades will be supplied and sold online in the future.
One of the future upgrades may be crash damage. Some reasons given as to why it doesn’t have it yet are that it needs to be done realistically, the physics engine would need to be updated and that some car companies don’t want their cars portrayed with crash damage - even if it’s just virtual.
Realistic crash damage alone is basically double the work. The way Yamauchi wants it done would mean each body panel of each car would have to be modeled separately - intact and crumpled - with the resulting changes in light and shadow.
“Yamauchi never intended GT to appeal to a mass audience. He believed only a real otaku, or hobby fanatic, would take the time to explore it’s many nooks and crannies. Indeed, the first version was altered for the US market to make it more accessible.” The game was tweaked by Taku Imasaki for American buyers by speeding up the game by 25%, changed the gravity so cars flew longer, and added the instant-play option. Imasaki’s changes didn’t win him many friends at Polyphony.

PlayStation Premier: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Set For October
An online sampling of the full GT5 in just a few months.

July 17, 2007 - Your next taste of Gran Turismo may come a bit earlier than expected. Following an impressive showing at E3 last week, Polyphony flew back to Tokyo in time for today's PlayStation Premier event where it announced that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (http://ps3.ign.com/objects/949/949777.html) will be released to the Japanese market in October!

As for the content set to be included in Prologue, according to Sony's press materials, we can look forward to a variety of cars, including some set to debut at this October's Tokyo Motor Show. The game will also have online play.

The only question is cost. The game's pricing is listed as "TBA," which suggests that it might not end up being the free download that everyone was hoping for following last year's big demo gift.

Πες στον φίλο σου να ξαναδει το video και να δει τα ανάποδα που σκάει ο τύπος από τον incar πλάνο για να ισιώσει λίγο... Όσο για τα δέντρα όντως είναι χάλια, δεν τα χα προσέξει και ούτε πρόκειται να τα προσέξω όσο θα παίζω αλλά δε πιστεύω να τα αφήσει έτσι η Polyphony. Πες τα ρε συ να τα βλεπει και ο κυριος που μου το στειλε. Πραγματικα απογοητευτικο αλλα το παιχνιδι ειναι τοσο τζαμι που αυτο δεν ειναι τπτ. Το δειξα το game στην μανα μου και νομιζε οτι ηταν rally που το δειχνε στη τν :p :p . Αυτο και μονο δειχνει την απιστευτη αληθοφανεια του.

Mας διαβάζει ο κύριος που στο 'στειλε? Να περάσει να του πω δυο λογάκια που βρήκε να πει για το δέντρο που είναι 20 μέτρα από το δρόμο... Τα αμάξια δε τα είδε πως είναι? Το δρόμο και το χορτάρι? τα φρεναρίσματα? το χώμα που σηκώνεται? τίποτα δεν είδε ε? Το δάσος τον πείραξε? Μήπως δεν άκουσε για τα 1080p και τα 60fps? Παιδια τι λεμε τωρα. Δεν υπαρχει συγκριση. Απο οταν εμαθα τα παιχνιδια παντα μα παντα κοιτουσα τα γραφικα και ηταν το κυριο κριτηριο αγορας ή οχι.

Αυτο το πραγμα που ειδα πριν λιγο απλα δεν υπαρχει. Ειναι τοσο τελειο που πρεπει να ενταχθει στην σφαιρα της επιστημονικης φαντασιας.

Ποτε δεν φανταστηκα οτι θα εβλεπα κατι τετοιο. Πραγματικα. Αν αυτο ειναι ουτε το μισο της δυναμης του PS3 (και της polyphony) μετα απο 6 μηνες στην κυκλοφορια, σκεφτομαι τι αλλο θα δουμε στο μελλον.

Εχω παγωσει, το εχω δει 100 φορες μεχρι τωρα μπας και το πιστεψω...........αδυνατον...

ProEvo σίγουρα είναι όπως τα λες γι αυτό και αναφέρθηκα σε δέντρο που είναι 20 μέτρα μακριά απο εκεί που "παίζεις"... Δηλαδή όποιος είδε όλα αυτά που έχουν βγει τις τελευταίες μέρες από το GT5 και δεν έπαθε κάτι με αυτό που είδε δε ξέρω τι να πω... Ίσως να μην φταίνε τα μάτια μερικές φορές αλλά το πολύ μπλα μπλα που κάνει το μυαλό φρουτόκρεμα... :p :p

Εμα λογικο ειναι ρε σεις. Τα παιχνιδια θα ταν τεραστια και ειναι που ειναι ηδη τεραστιο το gran turismo 5 λογω αναλυσης και ποικιλιας αυτοκινητων αμα ειχε και 3d backround στα 10 χιλιομετρα με αναλυση σαν τα αυτοκινητα θα χρειαζοταν 5-6 bluray disks :p:p:p

The Real Driving Simulator?

The Gran Turismo series has always attempted for the most realistic racing experience possible. 500 to 700 parameters define the driving characteristics of the car physics model. According to the developers, a professional driver was invited to set times using the same car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, and the GT4 lap times were within 2% of the real life equivalent.

Jeremy Clarkson, host of the Top Gear television program, performed a head-to-head test of real life versus GT4 on an episode of the program. He ran Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in real life in an Honda NSX for a lap time of 1:57. His GT4 lap time was 1:41:148. Clarkson however used the standard tires in GT4, which are thought to correspond more closely in performance with race or "R-comp" tires than to the standard summer tires fitted on the real-life car.
Clarkson also had to be shown by a race driving instructor where the line was between the game and reality. He pointed out that adjusting one's braking mid-turn in a real car could cause loss of control, and also mentioned that in the game, he is compelled to take bigger risks than he would in real life, and that in the game, the car did not suffer from brake fade.
Despite the apparent controversy, in a column for The Sunday Times, Clarkson had this to say about GT4:

So Sony is on to a winner. It can make all sorts of bold claims about how its Gran Turismo cars are the same as the real thing because no one will ever be able to prove it wrong. I am in a position to test out its claims because, unlike most people, I really have driven almost all of them in real life. There are mistakes. The BMW M3 CSL, for instance, brakes much better on the road than it does on the screen. And there’s no way a Peugeot 106 could outdrag a Fiat Punto off the line. But other than this, I’m struggling: they’ve even managed to accurately reflect the differences between a Mercedes SL 600 and the Mercedes SL 55, which is hard enough to do in real life.
There’s more, too. If you take a banked curve in the Bentley Le Mans car flat out, you’ll be fine. If you back off, even a little bit, you lose the aerodynamic grip and end up spinning.
That’s how it is. This game would only be more real if a big spike shot out of the screen and skewered your head every time you crashed.

GT5 Prologue Online Details

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine features an interview with Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi. Here he talks about some of the new features for the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

- PlayStation Home icon on the top menu screen: within the Home universe, there will be something like a "Gran Turismo World" galaxy. You can then enter the top menu of the game from Home, or vice-versa by selecting the respective icons.

- My Page: When the game starts, a My Page screen will also appear. In the final version, Yamauchi hopes to include a friends list as well. There will be several background images for the My Page screen such as Tokyo and other cities, but will also include sceneries of both outdoors and indoors. There is also a weather forecast displayed so that other players will know which geographic location you are in and how the weather is there.

- Chat features: Prologue will include 2 online modes, one which includes the chat features and the other which excludes this feature.

- Number of cars and course selection: about 40 cars and 4 courses with 8 different layouts. There will also be new courses which was briefly shown in the E3 trailer.

- Prologue will not have cars and course downloadables.

- Prologue falls somewhere in between the GT and Arcade mode. Players can earn reward money from each race and purchase new cars. There will be normal cars and tuned cars, but players cannot tune their own cars in this version. The save data from Prologue (such as money earned and cars purchased) can be carried over to Gran Turismo 5.

- 16 cars during races for offline mode. This may drop to 12 cars in online mode.

- Game control features "Normal Mode" based on simulation engine and "Professional Mode" based on actual car behavior and physics.

- Yamauchi hopes to include B-spec mode but it is still not decided at this point.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is scheduled for an October release in Japan.

Συνέντευξη του Kaz για το GT5 Prologue

Famitsu sat down with the lead developer of polyphony digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi for an interview regarding the upcoming playstation 3 exclusive racing game, GT:Prologue, in which he reveals some juicy new details.

The game that could be released on 10/24/2007 to coincide with the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. Being that this years Tokyo Motor Show will be “revolutionary” for Japanese automakers debuting their brand new sports cars. Various new online features will be announced and the game will be playable at the Leipzig show this month
GT:HD Concept will be removed from the PSN network when Prologue is released.

GT Prolouge will be Home compatible
There will be a “My Page” screen selectable from the title. Having given the online race component a lot of thought, the “My Page” will store your friends list, even calender, ranking etc. The online component will try to build an online community like social networking sites like “My Space”, “Mixi” (Japanese MySpace equivalent)
While the game is called “Grand Turisimo Prologue” it will be less like an arcade mode but closer to a simplified version of “Grand Turismo Mode” in the other GT games; making money, buying cars, etc.

Grand Turismo “World”.
In the final version they would like to have people be able to walk around a town and look at cars. They will creating each detail of the city as well as the car. Other then Tokyo they will have scenic views like natural environments as well. GT:Prologue will have 40 cars and 4 race tracks (8 different configurations). Including tracks not seen before. When asked about downloadable content, he responds “not right now, but likely later on”. When asked if the “Grand Turismo Award” winners from the 2006 SEMA shown in Las Vegas will be available; tuned 1960 Corvette and HKS CT230R Yamauchi responds, “I think one of the them. ”

Cockpit view will be available.
If you are using the steering wheel you can look around in the cockpit using the d-pad. For instance, it the Ferrari F430 you can appreciate the shine off the carbon fiber and the quality of the black leather seats. You can tell the quality difference in the leather of the Ferrari versus other cars. In Gran Turismo 5 you will be able to fully customize the interior. Depending on which car you drive your clothing will be different. Different helmet designs and other details that relate to the car manufacturer.

The "Best Car" magazine had an interview with Kazunori Yamauchi. The main points were posted on GameFront.de

- GT5 prologue will appear in Japan before the Tokyo Engine Show which begins on October 26 2007.

- GT5 will release in Japan on July 2008.

Παίδες το χω δείξει σε 5,6 άτομα - φιλαράκια που δεν ασχολούνται με videogames απλά για να το δουν, και απλά δεν μπορούν να πιστέψουν ότι είναι videogame... Μιλάμε το επίπεδο των γραφικών είναι απίστευτο...

Αυτό στο Liebniz είναι όντως σε 1080p @ 60fps και αυτό που είπαν είναι ότι απλά τα replay θα παίζουν σε 30fps γιατί θέλουν περισσότερα εφέ στο replay... Δηλαδή, ετοιμαστείτε να πάθετε ΣΟΚ μόλις το δείτε στην full HD tv σας...

According to Yamauchi in a Gamespot Hands on, the game will be released as a free experience on the PSN later this year.

Στα videos παντως δεν εχουν δειξει τιποτα να σπαει πραγμα αποθαρρυντικο, τουλαχιστον για το prologue.

Κανα καναλι που να δειχνει αγωνες δεν νομιζω να'ναι αλλα το πιο πιθανο ειναι να εχουμε την δυνατοτητα να ανεβασουμε κανενα replay ή να βλεπουμε τους αλλους αγωνες online.

Λοιπον τελικα το Gran Turismo 5 prologue θα περιεχει το Gran Turismo TV το οποιο θα ναι ενα "καναλι" που θα δειχνει νεα απο τον μηχανοκινητο αθλητισμο..:ohyes:
Επισης, θα διατεθει και μεσω psn και σε μορφη Blu-ray disc. Η Sony δεν ανεφερε καθολου ποτε θα κυκλοφορησει το παιχνιδι αλλα αναμενεται μεχρι τα τελη του 2007 να χει βγει το αργοτερο. Ομως, δεν ειπε τιποτα και για το αν θα ναι δωρεαν.

Προσωπικο μου συμπερασμα για το "δωρεαν" : καλυτερα να σταματησουμε να πεταμε σε πελαγη ευτυχιας και να προσγειωθουμε στην σκληρη πραγματικοτητα:witsend::witsend:

Αυτο που λεει ο Wolf εχει δικιο. Ειναι μερικα παιχνιδια που δεν σε αφηνουν να ασχοληθεις με λεπτομεριες γιατι το γενικο αποτελεσμα σε ενθουσιαζει. Οπως και το Gran Turismo ετσι ειναι και το Grant Theft Auto που μπορει να μην εχει τα τρελα γραφικα, παρ'ολα αυτα μας ενθουσιαζει...
